12 DAY GORILLA SAFARI

DAY ONE:

Arrive at the Airport, met by our staff and transferred to Hotel in Kampala (options available for luxury, mid range and budget accommodations).

 

DAY TWO:

Drive to Murchison Falls National Park; pass by the top of the falls overnight Nile safari camp or Red chilli rest camp.

 

DAY THREE:

Morning game drive; Here may have a chance to see the Lions, Leopards, Giraffes, Hartebeests, Oribis, Buffaloes, Elephants to mention but a few. Afternoon we take a cruise to the bottom of the falls, a magical trip through some beautiful scenery. The whole of the 50 meters wide Nile River is forced into a gap only 7 meters wide – the immense force of the water and the views of the falls are awe inspiring here we maybe lucky to see Crocodiles, schools of Hippos, we may also see animals as they come to the river to quench their thirst, the chances here we have are for Giraffes, Elephants, Cape buffaloes and some times Lions as they come to ambush prey, overnight Nile safari lodge or Paraa lodge or Sambiya River lodge or Red chilli rest camp.

 

DAY FOUR:

On this day we will drive southward down the western edge of Uganda, through winding agricultural lands, where villagers and their children show their friendly nature and wave out and you may glimpse the Ugandan way of rural life. We will enter the crater-lake region located underneath the magnificent Rwenzori Mountains. Overnight either Ndali lodge or Primate lodge or Nature lodge or chimps nest, we may also stay in Fort portal in Mountains of the moon or Tooro resort depending on the budget.

 

DAY FIVE:

After an early morning breakfast, drive to Kibaale NP reported to be home to the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in the world. Thirteen (13) different species have been identified here. We shall go for Chimp tracking where we have a chance to see a variety of other primates like. the Grey-cheeked Mangabeys, Vervet, L'Hoerst and Red tailed Monkeys, Olive Baboons, Red, Black and white Colobus Monkeys, afternoon swamp walk in Bigodi wetland for a variety of primates we may have missed in the forest. Overnight either Ndali lodge or Primate lodge or Nature lodge or chimps nest, we may also stay in Fort portal in Mountains of the moon or Tooro resort depending on the budget.

 

DAY SIX:

Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park arrive for a game drive along the channel track as we go to check in our hotel afternoon game drive along the channel track. Overnight Mweya safari lodge or Jacana or Katara lodge or Hippo pool or at the institute of ecology guest house depending on the budget.

 

DAY SEVEN:

Morning game drive through Kasenyi tracks and Kob mating grounds in search for lions, Elephants, Buffalo, Hyena, Giant Forest Hogs, and other game. There after we shall go for an afternoon boat ride on the Kazinga Channel believed to host the largest concentration of Hippos in Africa, a variety of migrant birds, we may have a chance to see a variety of other animals as they come to the channel for water. Overnight Mweya safari lodge or Jacana or Katara lodge or Hippo pool or at the institute of ecology guest house depending on the budget.

 

DAY EIGHT:

Queen Elizabeth National Park – Ishasha-Bwindi, we continue through the Queen Elizabeth National Park as we enter the southern region of the park known as Ishasha. This area is famous for tree-climbing lions and driving underneath the huge fig trees is an experience you will never forget, as you may find the lions lying around in the upper branches after the game drive transfer to Bwindi. Overnight Gorilla forest camp/Gorilla resort/Buhoma lodge/Engagi lodge/Bwindi view camp all depending on the budget.

 

DAY NINE:

After breakfast and briefing by experienced park rangers and with a picnic lunch, embark on a trek in search for the Mountain gorillas. These massive primates are extremely rare believed to be only 700 remaining. The tracking starts at the area where the gorillas spent the previous day. The thrill of spending time with and observing these gentle giant gorillas is a rare, moving, awesome and exciting adventure that will leave us with long lasting memories of a truly unique experience it is an unforgettable experience to watch and photograph them as the little ones play and interact. We will have a full hour with the gorillas then return to our accommodation for overnight. Tracking takes between 30 minutes and 8 hours depending on where the gorillas are found on that day. DAY TEN:

After breakfast transfer to L. Mburo National Park, we shall drive through the "scenic little Switzerland of Africa" with good views of this beautiful evergreen area we have a chance to see the herds of the Ankole long horned. We shall continue through Mbarara where we may have lunch then drive to the park, We arrive for a game drive as you enter the park where we have a chance to see the Zebra, Impalals, Topis, if lucky the Eland and Leopard may be seen in this park overnight Mhingo lodge, Mantana tented camp or Rwonyo depending on your budget.

 

DAY ELEVEN:

Morning game drive in search for what we may have missed the previous day then drive to Jinja, we shall have a brief stop at the equator and the royal drum makers. Overnight Jinja Nile Resort/Nile porch/Sunset hotel/paradise hotel depending on the budget.

 

DAY TWELVE:

After breakfast we may visit the source of the Nile then transfer back to Entebbe for your flight depending on your flight time, we may stop over in Kampala shopping for souvenirs transfer to the airport for your flight, end of services.

 

 

GENERAL INFORMATION:

Our package prices include accommodation and meals, Park entrance fees in all game parks and protected areas mentioned in the itinerary, vehicle hire with fuel and driver guide, boat rides in Murchison falls, Queen Elizabeth, chimpanzee tracking permits, ferry crossing in Murchison Falls NP, Guided nature walks and Ranger guide fees where required.

 

Gorilla permits are at US$600 per person per day.

 

These are booked in advance for they are sold on first come first serve basis and only confirmed with cash. Children below 15 years are not allowed to track chimps and gorillas

 

Our package prices do not include tips, drinks, personal insurance and anything of personal nature e.g. laundry, communication e.t.c.
