7 DAY BIRDING TOURS

DAY ONE:

Your trip begins when you arrive at Entebbe International Airport. Depending on your time of arrival, birding may be possible around Entebbe area. We will stay overnight in a hotel in Entebbe.

DAY TWO:

We will spend the whole day birding around Entebbe area, the Botanical Gardens for the Orange weaver, a variety of Sunbirds, Weavers, and some water birds. If time allows, we can bird Lutembe Beach for Black Herons and a variety of Terns, Gulls and other water birds; depending on the season. We will stay overnight in a hotel in Entebbe.

 

DAY THREE:

In the morning we will drive to Mabamba Swamp for birding the Shoebill Stork and other water birds. In the afternoon, we will drive to Lake Mburo National Park with lunch and birding enroute to Kaaku swamp to see the Rufous-bellied Heron, Lesser Jacana, Lesser Moorhen and a variety of water birds. We will be staying overnight at a hotel.

 

DAY FOUR:

Birding and mammal watching will continue in the morning; first in the grassland with chances to see the Brown-chested Plover (this is there between June and December), the Red-faced Barbet, and Zebra, Eland, Topis, Impalas and some other game. In the afternoon, we will go for a boat ride in search for the African Finfoot. We will stay overnight in a hotel in Mbarara.

 

DAY FIVE:

In the early morning we will drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving for an afternoon boat ride on Kazinga channel where shall see schools of Hippos, Crocodiles, and water birds; like the African Spoonbill, African skimmer (seasonal) and many others. We will stay overnight in a hotel.

 

DAY SIX:

In the morning, we will have a game drive on the Kasenyi track in search for Savanna birds; like the Temminck's Courser, Martial Eagle, Rupell's Griffon Vulture and many others. In the afternoon, we will bird the crater area. We will stay overnight in a hotel.

 

DAY SEVEN:

After breakfast, we will drive back to Entebbe airport for your flight, thus concluding your 7 day birding experience.
